Rania Reda
Rania is founder and CEO of a number of companies, including ITQAN for Smart Solutions, a technology services provider company in Alexandria, Egypt; and CollieTec Corp in Boston in the US, a leader in augmented reality (AR) applications. She studied at the University of Alexandria and the American University in Cairo. She spends her time between the Middle East, Europe and the US.
An active mentor in Alexandria, Rania is an engineer who worked for corporations for years before starting a software development business – because IT is her passion, even when her local society does not much support women in this sector. Today Rania, a TEDx speaker and ZenithTalk speaker, is inspiring generations with her passion for AR and her unique model of 80/20 female/male staff organisation.
Outside her business, she is a strong advocate for education and social responsibility and participates as a mentor with early stage companies across a number of technology verticals. She is also founder of the Asssistive Technology Research Centre for the Visually Disabled.
